Dog German Shepherd

A herding dog, german shepherd, is trained by the breeder and socialized with the other dogs. The breed was founded by Max von Stephanitz. He was also the person who organized the club. Earlier when these dogs were used as herding dogs they accompanied the sheep. There were always at least two dogs to accompany the sheep. In the North, the average flock numbers were about 300 sheep and sometimes up to 600 sheep. The course of the River Main strikes further North in the West part of Germany -- this applies to sheep tending, too -- and forms a kind of boundary and the sheep tending differs somewhat on each side of this boundary in that the Northern dogs have higher demands on them. Novice owners and those who cannot devote much time to a pet are not recommended to obtain a puppy of this breed, as it’s a challenge in terms of training. This breed is smart and quick to learn. Sometimes, 2 or 3 repetitions are enough to learn a new task. For impressive results, training sessions should be interesting and challenging. Drill and repetitive exercises will do nothing but harm. If raised together, a puppy will be reliable with cats, but this breed should not be trusted with smaller pets. A herding dog, german shepherd, is trained by the breeder and socialized with the other dogs.
